6th Annual Northeast All Community School Barbecue

Celebrate the community and the new school year at the 6th Annual Northeast All Community School Barbecue on Thursday, August 23, 3:00-8:00pm.  All Northeast Minneapolis Public Schools will hold their open houses the same day, though times will vary by school.  This free Barbecue will be held at Thomas Edison High School and is open to everyone in the community. Come, fit in dinner, connect with the teachers, community leaders, and your neighbors.  Stay tuned for updated information about the event.

MPS Latino Resource Connection Meeting Mon. April 16 @ Green Central

MPS' FINAL Multilingual Latino Parent Resource Connection meeting will be taking place next Monday, April 16, at Green Central School.  It will be a summer resource fair and the goal of the event is to connect families to fun, supportive, learning environments for both parents and children.  Please share this with all of your contacts and help get the word and flyers out to all MPS Latino families.  Gracias!!!

Where:  Green Central School  -  3416 Fourth Ave South

Topic:   Latino PRC RESOURCE FAIR - Summer programming for children and families.  Goal of meeting is to inform parents of all the great activities (many are free) that are available to them and their children during the summer.  Let’s get kids and families away from the TV and out enjoying summer in supportive, fun environments.


As always there will be free food, childcare, and amazing resources & information.

"Antigone" Performances @ Edison High School, March 7-9 @ 7:00 pm


Antigone - by Jean Anouilh

This play is a Greek tragedy, which is one of the earliest forms of theater still performed today.  The play tells the story of young girl whose resolve is tested after her brothers are killed at war, and a king who must enforce the laws he has established, even when they don't always make sense.

Performances:

March 7 - 9 @ 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Edison High School's auditorium
Tickets are sold at the door - $5 for adults and $4 for kids

Northeast Middle School Boys Basketball Team Undefeated and Heading to the Playoffs!

Last night - at home - the basketball Nighthawks took the measure of Anwatin's very classy hoopsters, and that (as they say) was that.

The scoreboard at the end of regulation play read "46 - 29."  

Our kids stayed in character.

They are 9 - 0 (as in undefeated) in regular season play.

Next stop:  the play-offs....
